Myers March Maddness!

NO- this post is not about basketball. And I'm sure I just lost all of the males that happened to visit my blog. I guess I could blame my lack of posts on how busy we have been (and looks like I started this post over a month ago!). The month of March we had something going on every weekend. Actually the traveling started in Feb....

We took a weekend trip to meet my parents in Dallas to celebrate their 32nd and our 2nd wedding anniversaries. We also were able to attend the sealing of our friends Liz and Colt Center. We started the morning with a yummy complimentary breakfast at the Marriott we were staying in. Then it was off to the mall for some shopping! YAY! Ok, of course I was the one that was most excited. But I didn't have much time. I was literally sweating because I was walking so fast. I had a lot of ground to cover. After lunch we went back to the hotel to change and went to the temple. After the Center's sealing we all went out to eat. It was nice to get to see our friends Amanda and Orie and their precious little Aiden! :) Here's a few pics from after the sealing.

This is the debut of my new and improved hair! I finally gave in and got my hair professionally highlighted (mom and I tried twice and it wasn't that great...). Nothing drastic just more blonde. The next pic shows the color better.

 My wonderful parents!
Orie and Rem GQ'ing it up...
 Nice ties boys...

My prego friend Liz! Isn't she so cute!
 Us with the Centers!

We had a blast in Dallas! And to top it all off, we found some great outlets on the way out of town. I found a pair of designer jeans for a steal so naturally I was ecstatic!

The next weekend (the offical first weekend in March) we packed our bags for a shorter drive to Little Rock. We stayed with Tristan (Rem's brother) and Abigail (my wonderful sis in law) and their insanely adorable little girls Zella and Harper. Harper was celebrating her 2nd birthday! I noticed this visit w/ Harper that she was talking more and more. Abigail said it's most fun to listen to Harper when sister Zella has done something that has made her unhappy. The party was complete with cake, ice cream and of course presents!

Love the facial expression in this one.
This is probably in the middle of the forever and a day long Myers rendition of Happy Birthday.
 Zella ready for cake!
Harper was very meticulous in her opening of cards ...

 by one!

It's a card from Grandma and Grandpa Myers!

A trip to Little Rock for me just isn't complete without a visit to the Perciful/Egart families. And this time there was a new member of the family to meet! Mr. Cullen James! The whole time I was at Alli's house I got to hold him. My arms were so tired but I just couldn't put that cute little hunk down!

It's crazy to think that my best friend Alli now has a child. I know she'll make a wonderful mother! And I'm sure dad Tim-o-tee can't wait to teach Cullen how to play catch!

I promise this blog post is somewhat coming to an end! The next 2 weekends we were at home but had plenty to do. I hosted a shower for Liz (remember the girl w/ the cute belly above). I spent all week cooking in preparation for the shower. It was super fun though! Then the next weekend, we had a family get together to celebrate a # of birthdays in the Myers family. I would try to name them but I know I'll forget someone.

My birthday was the 27th and my parents came up for a visit. Every year my mom makes a homemade from scratch cheesecake for me. My bubba started the tradition when I was probably in Jr. High. Since I've been working so hard on my cooking skills, I decided I'd give baking a cheesecake a whirl. I was so nervous it would crack as it began to cool. BUT I got lucky and it turned out beautiful!

See it made it out of the pan and it's still pretty!

Yum! I of course got the first slice. After all it was my birthday!

Have your cake and eat it too! :)
